Archbishop Neary is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Siobhan Bradley to the post of Diocesan Youth Director for the Archdiocese of Tuam. She takes over this job in succession to Ms Trish O’Brien who has been in that role since 2012

Pilgrimage to Lough Derg You can begin the Three Day Pilgrimage on any day of the week up until 13th Aug – some people come on their own, others with a friend or two and others like to travel with an organized group. (Lough Derg also run One Day Retreats from 17th Aug to end Sept.)

The Tochar Phadraig Pilgrim Walks from Ballintubber Abbey to Croagh Patrick takes place on Saturday 28th June departing the Abbey at 8.30 am. A back up car will accompany all the walkers to the end at Murrisk. Contact Ballintubber Abbey Office 094 9030934

Maryvale Certificate in Catechesis The Maryvale Certificate in Cathechesis (MCC) course is a two year part time, distance learning course which is modular in design, covering the key areas necessary for adults seeking to deepen their faith knowledge, as well as those looking for
formation to equip them to deliver catechesis in parishes, schools and families. Cost is €700 per annum.  The course will begin on Sat 11th Oct 2014 with a study day from 10am to 4pm in the Avila Carmelite Centre, Bloomfield Avenue, Morehampton Rd, Dublin 4. The festival committee wishes to extend a sincere “THANK YOU” to everyone who supported the many events held in the village over the festival weekend. Congrats to the winners and participants of the Art competition, Inter Village Quiz, Lake O Flynn race, Fancy dress, the fishing competition and the dog show. A huge thanks to the many committees who organized these successful events, including Youth Committee, Heritage Committee, Tidy Town Committee, Race Committee, Fishing Competition and Dog Show organizers. Many thanks to all our helpers and sponsors.  A special thanks to Sean & Celine Flynn “The Tap” who raised in excess of €1100 for Mayo/Roscommon Hospice and the race committee who raised huge funds for ”Join Our Boys.” As the festival did not officially close!!! we hope you will continue to “Go Wilde” in Ballinlough for the remaining of the summer.
