I would like to see more people taking part in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The time we spend in prayer is time well spent.

Times of adoration are: Ballinlough: Mon. 2pm – 9pm

Wed 8pm - 9pm

Fri. 8pm - 9pm

Granlahan Mon 6pm - 10pm

I would appeal also for more people to volunteer for reading in the church in Granlahan and Ballinlough.

Active Retirement: The AGM of Ballinlough/Granlahan Active Retirement will be held in Granlahan Community Centre on Tuesday 15th September at 3pm. All members and people who would like to join are invited to attend. Subscriptions are due for coming year.

Bridge Club: The Bridge Club is resuming on Tuesday night 15th September at 8 o’clock in Campbells Lounge, Ballinlough. All are welcome.

Stations: We hope to have the Stations in all the Station areas this October.

Coffee Morning for Hospice: The annual Coffee Mornings in aid of Hospice will be held in the following premises:

Ballinlough: O’Connors 10.30am Friday 18th Sept.

Granlahan Hillside Tavern After 12 noon Mass on Sunday 21st Sept.

Cloonfad Community Centre After 8pm Mass on Saturday 19th Sept.

Roscara Social Housing Coffee Morning. Regina McGuire of Roscara Social Housing, Srah, Ballinlough (next of Costcutters filling station) is hosting a coffee morning in aid of Mayo/Roscommon Hospice on Thursday 17th September from 10am-1pm approx. Come along and enjoy a cuppa in lovely surroundings. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Irish Kidney Association church gate collection taken up last weekend in Granlahan amounted to €385.33c. Thank you for your support.

Cloonbonniffe Auction on Sunday 13th September at Cloonbonniffe school grounds. Come along, bring a friend and pick up bargain of the year!!

National Grandparents Pilgrimage: The 3rd Annual National Grandparents Pilgrimage will take place on Sunday Sept. 13th at Knock Shrine. Chief celebrant is Cardinal Sean Brady. Guest speakers include Dana and Fr Liam Lawton. Annointing of the sick and choral singing from 2pm. Mass at 3pm. All are welcome.

Best wishes: As the new academic year has begun in our Primary schools, we wish Mr Gerry Markham every happiness and blessing in his retirement. He served for many years as Principal of Carrick NS and was so much part of the life of the school and the parish. Our sincere thanks goes to him for all he did, may he enjoy the peace and rest of his retirement.

We congratulate Mrs Peggy Cheevers on becoming Principal of Carrick NS. She has already served many years as assistant teacher. We wish her every success and blessing in her new role.

Defibrillator Meeting An important meeting of the Ballinlough/Granlahan defibrillator group will be held in Campbells lounge, Ballinlough on Tuesday 8th Sept. at 9pm. As the two year training contract has expired, all members are earnestly requested to attend.

Mayo/Roscommon Hospice: A meeting of the Kiltullagh branch of Mayo/Roscommon hospice will be held in O’Connors lounge, Ballinlough on Tuesday 8th September at 9pm. All are welcome.

Ballinlough/Granlahan Day Centre: will reopen on Thursday 10th September. All are welcome. A meeting for volunteers will be held on Monday night 7th September at 9.15pm. All volunteers and new volunteers are welcome.

IFA Public Livestock Meeting: on Monday 7th September at 8.30pm sharp in The Bush Hotel, Ck-on-Shannon. Guest speakers from IFA, Farmers Journal, AIB, Teagasc, An Bord Bia, Live Exporters and Meat Factory representatives. All farm families are welcome to attend.

Information Evening Co Roscommon Higher Education Centre, Boyle will hold its information evening on Tuesday 8th September from 5.30pm-7.30pm. All colleges will be represented, including Leeds Metropolitian University who will be running the Advanced Professional Diploma and Masters Degree in Management.
