New Years Greetings
I wish to extend New Year’s greetings and good wishes for 2010 to you all.  I hope the year ahead will bring you health and happiness and I pray for God’s blessings on all your work and undertakings in 2010.  May God guide and direct all our efforts during the New Year.  I pray for God’s blessings on all families and I pray especially for children in examination classes and those who are seeking employment.  May you all be successful in your endeavours.  I welcome all who have come to live in our community.  I wish those people and their families happiness and success in our parish.  With God’s help and guidance may the year ahead be a good year for us all.

Thanks to all who contributed so generously to the Christmas collections this year.
I want to thank the many people who helped to take care of our churches, Ballinlough & Granlahan and decorated them so beautifully, inside and outside, for the Christmas Feast, a real welcome for the Christ child.  So much hard work went into it all, we are truly thankful to all who took part.
There will not be any First Friday calls for the month of January.
Senior Citizens’ Party Committee:  There will be a short meeting of the committee in Ballinlough Health Centre on Wednesday 30 December at 8.00 pm. to finalise the arrangements for the party.  All who are interested in helping are asked to attend.
Care of the Churches:
Granlahan:  Sincere thanks to Group C who took care of the church during the month of December.  Would group D look after it during the month of January?  Group D:  Noreen Coggins, Mary Patterson, Mary Raftery,
Mai O’Gara, Ruth Sullivan, Angela Keaveney.

Ballinlough:  I thank the people of Town South who cared for the church during the month of December.  Would the people of Town North and the Avenue look after it during the month of January?
Cystic Fibrosis Fundraiser: The annual fundraiser in aid of Cystic Fibrosis will take place again this year on 27 December in the Hillside Tavern, Granlahan at 9.00 pm.  Your support is greatly appreciated for this worthy cause.  We would like to thank everyone for their support last year.  In total
8010 was raised.
