FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT 20 December 2009.


Christmas Greeting
I wish to extend Christmas greetings and blessings to you all.  I hope Christmas will be a happy and peaceful time for everyone.  May the many blessings of Christmas be present in all your homes.  I wish to welcome home all the members of your families and your friends who have come to spend Christmas in our Parish.  I hope that you all enjoy the season of goodwill together.  We remember especially in our Christmas prayers any members of your families that may be ill or in hospital at this time.  We pray that all may make a speedy recovery.

We hope to have a number of priests hearing confessions and that a good number of people will avail of the sacrament.
The priest will visit the sick as usual for Christmas on Wed. 23 December.  Ballinlough 10 a.m., Granlahan 10.30 a.m., Cloonfad 2 pm.
If any family wishes to take part in mass of the Feast of the Holy Family, Sunday 27 Dec. in Granlahan Church at 12 noon, please contact Fr. Joe.


The Priest’s collection for the support of the priest of the parish will be taken up at all the Christmas masses.


The Granlahan Fair Day Committee would like to wish everyone a happy Christmas.  Many thanks for all your help and support over the past year with the successful Fair Day and the more recent Mr. & Mrs. Competition.  Funds after costs from the Fair Day amounted to 1510.  A donation of €200 has been given to Granlahan N.S., €300 towards the new Christmas lighting with 650 raised from Mr. & Mrs. Competition.  The remainder to be retained for insurance and costs next year.


Youth Café.  The Ballinlough / Granlahan youth café committee express sincere thanks to all who gave so generously to the carol singing fundraiser.  We raised 201.14.  We would also like to thank everyone involved in organising the event as well as the youth involved.
