Mass Time Changes:- As and from Saturday evening May 2nd, 7pm mass returns to Granlahan Church. Saturday April 25th will be the last Saturday evening mass in Ballinlough for the present. This is in line with the agreement drawn up by the three pastoral councils in the parish two years ago.

Care of the churches:- Ballinlough:- We wish to thank the people of Carraghs and Clooninsla who looked after the church during the month of April, would the people of Clooncalagy and Meelick care for it during the month of May.

Granlahan:- Our thanks to group C who cared for the church during the month of April, would group D care for it during the month of May. Group D:- Noreen Coggins, Mary Raftery, Bridie Kelly, Mary Patterson.

Celebration of the Sacraments:- First Holy Communion. Ballinlough School – Sunday 3rd May 11am. Granlahan School – Sunday 10th May 12 noon. Carrick School – Sunday 17th May 11am.

Parish Pastoral Council:- Fr. Pat Farragher will speak to members of Ballinlough, Granlahan & Cloonfad Parish Pastoral Councils on Wednesday 29th April at 8.30pm in Granlahan community centre. All members are encouraged to attend.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock. The Tuam Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will be on Sunday, May 3rd. The ceremonies will commence at 2.30pm. The Archbishop will lead the pilgrimage.

Ballinlough/Granlahan Defibrillator group held their annual walk on Easter Monday, thanks to all who took part and sponsored the event which was a great success. Revaluation for all trained in CPR is on Tues 5th May from 7-9pm in Kiltullagh Enterprise, Ballinlough. Please attend this ten minute refresher which is important.

Cloonfad Mazamba Partnership 6th annual sponsored walk takes place on Mon 4th May at 5pm. Sponsorship cards from Sean Brennan on (094) 9646118.

The Easter Collection for the support of the priests of the parish is being taken up at all masses this weekend.

I want to thank very sincerely all the people who helped in any way with the Eater ceremonies, those who took part and those helped out. I thank the people who decorated the church for Easter.

Trocaire Boxes:- Please return all Trocaire Boxes to the church as soon as possible.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock. The Tuam Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will be on Sunday, May 3rd. The ceremonies will commence at 2.30pm. The Archbishop will lead the pilgrimage.

Madrid & Salamanca. A Pilgrimage from Tuam Archdiocese to Madrid and Salamanca on June 30th will include a visit to Avila and two nights in Santiago de Compostela. John B. Mc Loughlin at 093 28337 has the details.

On Sunday May 10th, the first Diocesan Youth Pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick will take place. Mass will be celebrated on the Summit at 12 noon and again we hope that parishes and schools will use this opportunity to gather young people from their area.

IHCPT, Irish Handicapped Childrens Pilgrimage Trust would like to thank everyone who supported the church gate collection in Granlahan. The amount raised was €340.29.

Cloonfad Mazamba Partnership 6th annual sponsored walk takes palce Monday May 4th at 5pm. To date the group has raised €37,788.which has assisted with several projects. Tidy Towns Committee:- Sincere thanks to all who turned out to help with our clean up last Saturday. With your continued help we plan to keep Ballinlough and its surrounding roads litter free. This clean up will be held the first Saturday of each month at 11am., when gloves and bags will be provided in the square for everyone who is interested in keeping your area litter-free.

There will be a number of Priests hearing confessions. I would encourage as many people as possible to avail of this Sacrament. Confessions will also be heard after Stations of the Cross on Good Friday.

Good Friday is a day of fast and abstinence.

Easter Collection: The Easter collection for the support of the Priests of the parish will be taken up Holy Saturday night and Easter Sunday morning.

First Confession: We congratulate the children from Granlahan National School and Ballinlough National School who celebrated their first confessions on Tuesday and Wednesday last, also their parents and teachers. We pray God’s blessings on all of them as they prepare for their First Holy Communion.

Ballinlough/Granlahan Defibrillator Group are holding their annual sponsor walk on Easter Monday 13th April, leaving Ballinlough Square at 3pm to Granlahan. Refreshments in Hillside Tavern, Granlahan afterwards. Everyone welcome to take part in the walk as it is a community event, with or without a sponsor card. All are welcome so please support.
