May your gift of the Holy Spirit guide and enlighten my fragile mind. At this difficult time, give me the gift of self confidence and an assurance that you will hear my prayer. Answer my need and continue life’s journey. I ask this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The annual mass and pilgrimage to the Hill of Kiltullagh takes place Sunday 27th May with mass at 4pm. I would ask people of the parish to support this pilgrimage. We honour the church on the hill where our people attended mass for centuries and which was the cradle of Christianity for the surrounding areas.

Congratulations to the children of Granlahan NS who received their First Holy Communion on Sunday last, also to their families and teachers. Many thanks to all the people who helped.

Ballinlough/Granlahan Cleanup:- We’re asking everyone from the Ballinlough & Granlahan areas to take part in a cleanup evening on Monday 28th May at 6pm. Meeting point is the Square in Ballinlough, and the Church Yard in Granlahan. Gloves and equipment will be provided. Please come along and help. Thank you.

Tuam Diocesan Pastoral Assembly Implemation Group. Over the coming weeks a diocesan wide consultation on Pastoral Councils will take place. This focused consultation will provide an opportunity for parishes to share their experience of Pastoral Councils and also offer their suggestions as to the content and style of the proposed programme. Consultation Meetings will be held at Deanery level. Each Parish/Pastoral Council is invited to nominate four members (including Priest) to attend. Meetings will commence at 8.30pm sharp and will finish at 10pm with tea/coffee. Dunmore Deanery Consultation Mtg. – Venue – National School, Dunmore. Time :- 8.30pm. Date:- May 29th.

Trocaire Collection:- Our sincere gratitude to all who contributed so generously to the Trocaire collection this Lent. Your contribution will help many poor people. The amount collected was Ballinlough:- €2103. Granlahan:- €2058.
During the month of May the Rosary will be recited in Granlahan and Ballinlough churches each evening at 8pm in honour of Mary, the mother of God and to ask for her help in our lives.
This week the Diocesan Implemation Group will meet for the 7th time since last December. The Implementation Group has indentified the whole area of Pastoral Councils for immediate attention. Over the coming weeks a process of consultation will commence. This consultation will provide an opportunity for parishes to share their experience of Pastoral councils. It will also form the basis for the development of a Formation, Training and Support Programme for Pastoral Councils which will meet the variety of needs of Parishes throughout the Diocese.
