Easter Confession Ballinlough : Mon 17^th March after 8pm Mass.

Granlahan: Monday 17^th March 8pm.

Stations of the Cross will be held in Granlahan and Ballinlough churches at 3pm on Good Friday.

The Easter Collection for the support of the people of the Parish will be taken up at masses on Holy Saturday night and Easter Sunday morning.

The Priest will visit the sick as usual on Good Friday 10.30am.

Congratulations to the children of Carrick and Granlahan N.S. who made their First Confessions last Wednesday. May God Bless them as they prepare for their First Holy Communion.

IHCPT (Irish Handicap Children’s Pilgrimage Trust) Church Gate Collection on Easter Sunday in Granlahan. Please support.

COLLECTION: Fr Nicholas Maanzo – Diocese of Kitui, Kenya: Collection of all types of clean, dry, ladies, gents and children’s clothing, also bed linen, curtains, towels and shoes. Collection on Wednesday 19^th March 2008 before 12 noon on the day at Ballinlough Church car park. All clothes contributions will help raise much needed funds for The Education Fund for Orphans.

Our sincere thanks to all those who attended the Parish Pastoral Council meeting on Wednesday evening last.

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday, the palms will be blessed. This is the beginning of Holy Week, as Jesus enters Jerusalem. It is in Jerusalem that he will suffer his passion and death.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Eileen Porter, Tarmonbarry, who died during the week.

St Patrick’s Day this year is celebrated on Saturday 15^th Mar. There will also be a mass on Mon evening 8pm for those who wish to mark the Feast day. This year it is not a holiday of obligation.

Past Pupils and Parents are cordially invited to the launch of the CD ‘One More Song’ in the school auditorium on Thurs 13^th Mar 5.30pm.

“A Moving Experience” Enter into the drama of Holy Week by experiencing the Passion Play in Ballintubber Abbey Grounds on Mon 17^th, Tues 18^th & Wed 19^th Mar @ 9pm. The drama lasts for one hour and there is no admission fee. Donations gratefully received.

Training for members of Parish Pastoral Councils will take place throughout the diocese. The venue for our meeting is The Community Centre, Granlahan. Members of the Pastoral Councils from Ballinlough Parish and Dunmore Parish will meet there on Wednesday 5^th March 8pm-10pm. All members are requested to attend.

First Friday – As Friday is the first Friday of the month, the Priest will visit the sick and housebound as usual.

Lough Harps FC will be registering players in the under 12, under 14 and under 16 age group on Saturday 8^th March from 3pm to 4.30pm at the Club House. Registration fees of €50.00 per player or €70.00 per family will be payable on registration. A parent must attend with any player registering for the new season which is expected to begin in early April. All are welcome. Under 8 and under 10 players will be registered later.

Ballinlough – our thanks to the people of Cloonlee who cared for the church during the month of February. Would the people of Mountain Upper and Mountain Lower look after it during the month of March.
